Realizing the vision of the faculty to became an eminent institution in the field of engineering in Asia in 2020, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Brawijaya (FT-UB) intensified its collaboration with universities at home and abroad. At the one week workshop starting on February 23, 2017 in the international institute for water education, UNESCO-IHE Institute for Water Education in Delft,  Netherlands involving FT-UB and Ho Chi Min University, Vietnam, agreed to work together to form teaching collaboration by preparing five modules based on on-line learning system.

At the this cross countries kick-off meeting program sets that if the student completed four of five modules prepared, they are eligible to Graduate Professional Diploma Program (GPDP) Water for Food to support the food security program as part of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

blandRepresented by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs Dr. Ir. Surjono MTP, together with the Head of Water Resources Engineering Department, Ir.  Moh. Solichin MT.,  Ph.D, FT propose participants got Dipl.WF by taking a minimum of four modules with a three-month study load per module (online) or three weeks per regular module (face to face), with a total equivalent to 20 ECTS (560 hours).

bland2“Following this kick-off meeting, is the lecturer of the three institutions will continue several workshops for the three months to finalize all 5 module. Dutch students of the regular programs are also scheduled to do a field study in Indonesia and Vietnam,” said Dr Surjono.

Kick off meeting will also be strengthened with the visit of delegation of the UB Rector on 16 March to initiate dual degree cooperation and other academic fields of cooperation. (mic)
